Lumières
Rediscover the light of the past
The Enlightenment was a period of radical reorientation across Europe. Centered in Paris in the mid 18th century, it was headed by philosophers and scientists who wished to advocate for reason rather than faith. They drew inspiration from Ancient Greek societies to create a new range of principles.
Fitting with this intellectualism and drawing on the past, the art of the Enlightenment ushered in the era of Neoclassical design: palettes became more muted and low-contrast, symmetry was once again held as the beacon of beauty. Luxury and comfort came together with exquisite upholstery and soft, buttery fabrics.
Our Lumières collection is the testimony of that era with a sophisticated brocard mixed with soft velvets and subtle jacquards. Just as the intellectuals of the time travelled across Europe sharing and mixing ideas, our collection embodies their mélange.
